Chicken Soup for the
African American Soul ...

is a tribute to a culture that prides itself on its sense of survival, resiliency, healing, prayer, and perseverance. These stories offer an opportunity for both African Americans and our friends of other cultures to understand what has been the powerful and unending thread woven throughout our tapestry that has created the wonderful and beautiful fabric of who we are.

Here we express why we dance, why we sing, why we cry, why we shout, why we laugh so joyfully and why we continue to keep striving and fighting for what we believe. This book is not only a tribute to what has been in our history, but also to what still can be in our future, filled with stories of transitioning from the test to the testimony, and from the battles to the victories.

This book includes stories by or about:

Muhammad Ali
Wally Amos
Maya Angelou
Les Brown
Mean Joe Greene
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Martin Luthor King Jr
Yolanda King
Nelson Mandela
Malcolm X
Sojourner Truth
....and many more!

"Chicken Soup for the African American Soul includes stories of inspiration, humor and wisdom that we all can relate to. The pot is full and seasoned just right! You can take a big helping all at once or dip a little at a time. Enjoy the book! I hope it warms your heart as much as it warmed mine!"
