From Average Student to Extraordinary Speaker and Author Lisa Nichols Serves Up a Hot Helping of Chicken Soup for the Soul on Tour
(New York, NY - September, 2006) The last time Bestselling Author and International Speaker, Lisa Nichols took an English class she got an “F.” Not only was she a “C’ average student, she was told by her English professor, “Lisa, you have to be the weakest writer I’ve ever met.” Today, Lisa Nichols is an accomplished author as well as a dynamic motivational speaker and powerful advocate for personal empowerment.
On September 15th, Ms. Nichols comes to New York on her multi-city book and inspirational tour for Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul. Her visit to the area will include a “free to the public event” where ladies will have candid conversations about the challenges, joys, and responsibilities of womanhood entitled Ladies Can We Talk, at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 15th, at the Time & Life Building in New York City. On Saturday, September 16th at 9 a.m. Ms. Nichols will deliver the keynote address at the Sisters Network of Central New Jersey’s 6th Annual Health Summit and Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ; Saturday evening at 6 p.m. she will be at Hue Man Bookstore & Café back in Harlem for a special book signing. Ms. Nichols’ visit will end with an inspirational mid-day appearance at the Harlem Tea Room at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 17th.
Growing up in South Central, Los Angeles, obstacles were seen as opportunities by Ms. Nichols, who is the first African-American co-author for the International bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series and has recently released her second title in the series, Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul.
Interviewed by over 35 national and syndicated radio stations, seven network television stations and featured as a Life Coach on NBC’s daytime show Starting Over, Lisa Nichols encourages and empowers those who need to believe in themselves and see the possibilities in spite of their problems. She has taken her message of inspiration abroad to Johannesburg, South Africa as well as Kingston, Jamaica and will visit more then 20 U.S. cities on her national book tour.
